Chandigarh-Hub of Pharma Companies

Chandigarh-HUB of Pharma Companies

Why Chandigarh is a HUB of Pharma companies? This article will help you understand this:

Himachal Pradesh is home to multiple pharmaceutical companies who have established manufacturing plants and R&D hubs in the state. The town Baddi in Solan district in Himachal Pradesh is Asia's biggest Pharmaceutical hub and is home to some of the largest pharmaceutical companies such as Intas Biopharmaceuticals, Cipla, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Ajanta Pharma, Abbott Laboratories Ranbaxy Laboratories etc. besides hundreds of other companies. Besides Baddi, there are many other smaller hubs in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

Manufacturing Units in Baddi

Baddi's fortunes began to change when tax incentives were announced for the hill state of Himachal Pradesh in 2003 to attract investments to special-category states. The major attractions for investors included 100 per cent excise duty exemption for 10 years from the date of commencement of commercial production (the budget for 2011-12 stipulated that it would apply to industries starting on or before March 31, 2007); 100 per cent income tax exemption for an initial period of five years and 30 per cent thereafter for a further period of five years; and a capital investment subsidy of 15 per cent on plant and machinery subject to a ceiling of Rs 30 lakhs, applicable also to existing units. These incentives led to very fast growth of Pharma manufacturing plants (besides many other industries) in Baddi and other areas of Himachal Pradesh. Majority of the well established pharmaceutical companies established their new plants here. In a similar manner, these incentives led to establishments of pharmaceutical manufacturing plants by entrepreneurs from the neighbouring states of Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana & Delhi. Ancillary industries also developed (though again encouraged by these incentives) to cater to various input requirements of these plants. Baddi developed faster than other areas because of its proximity to Chandigarh & other plain areas and also because of establishment of industrial parks by government.

Because Chandigarh is situated in the footprints of Himachal Pradesh and is very close to Pharma Manufacturing industry in Baddi, Chandigarh became hub of PCD Pharma companies. Better quality of life, availability of infrastructure and not-so-expensive real estate attracted new entrepreneurs into establishing Pharma marketing companies in Chandigarh besides attracting the promoters from Baddi and other such areas to establish their marketing offices in Chandigarh. Over the period, it has developed so much that every fourth PCD company in India belongs to Chandigarh. Pharma companies in Chandigarh are very well known and have got good revenue market share among the Pharma industry in India.

Monopoly Rights in Pharma Franchise

Monopoly Rights in Pharma Franchise

Monopoly Rights in Pharma Franchise are very important to get known with. This article will help you understanding this.

What is the meaning of Monopoly Rights:

Monopoly Right, by definition, is a privilege granted by an authority to a person or entity to exclude all others from using, producing or selling a certain invention, product or service. This is mainly an exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market.

When a Pharma Franchisee takes distribution rights of a Pharma Company in Chandigarh, Monopoly rights to handle the distribution of their pharma products are given to him for his designated area(s). No other franchisee of that Pharma Company is allowed to do business in that particular area. If any other franchisee of that pharma company (from some other neighbouring areas) tries to sell same brands, the company is supposed to take suitable actions on the defaulting franchisee including discontinuation of  its agreement with that person. So with this assurance  franchisee faces no competition from the same brand in his area.

With the help of Monopoly Rights, the franchisee is able to expand his business significantly. He is able to build a loyal base of customers. Only he and the Pharma Company get the benefit of loyalty generated in this way. No third person can take away the customer equity created in that area.

HOW TO CHOOSE RIGHT NAME FOR MY PHARMA COMPANY

Pharma Company

When anyone wants to start a pharma business, first question comes to his mind is :
What should be the name of my pharma company?

And then :
What other things should be taken care while choosing name for  a pharma franchise company?
Here are some tips to be taken care:

1. Easy to pronounce:  Name of a pharma company should be very easy. It should be so simple that even a layman can pronounce it correctly. Pronunciation of that word should not be ambiguous. That word should be unique and very simple.

2. Length of word : Length of word also matters a lot. You should split it in two parts : One for that word and other should reflect that it belongs to pharma industry. See point number 5.

3. Availability on trade mark: Availability also plays a major role. Sometimes whatever we think for  a name, the same turns out to be already registered. We should make a list of names and then check their availability on the site: http://ipindiaonline.gov.in/tmrpublicsearch/frmmain.aspx

4. No silent letters: No silent letters please. Keep it so simple that nobody is confused about its pronunciation .

5. Can add pharma, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, biomed, biotech, health, care, cure, biocare, drugs, help, sure etc.: Use suffixes like these to make it clear that it belongs to pharma industry. Many more can be used which reflects life, treatment or care.

6. Not necessarily the exact spelling : No need to stick to the some dictionary word with the  exact spellings. You can choose a word with different spellings to enhance chances of avaialability.
For example : Life : Lyf

Why to become Pharma Franchise from MR

PHARMA FRANCHISE FROM MR
A medical representative job can be very useful for the experience and expertise gained in the field of pharmaceuticals. One can then boldly start a new business with comparatively less dependence on other parties. Well, now you can question that what the advantages of being a pharma franchise are, and why isn’t it better to be a simple MR (Medical Representative) instead of risking your fixed salary.

To answer this question in simple terms:
• Higher monetary returns  as compared to the limited salary
• Flexibility of timings
• You are your own boss and you have flexibility of decision making.
• You can relocate your working area and can thus be nearer to your home.

With experience and acquaintance in the pharmaceutical field, if you can work on your own, then why do you have to work for another company with negligible scope of raise in profit? Also, with your experience, you can easily start a pharma franchise. It has comparatively more profit than the previous job.

Some people might be coming to the conclusion that the investment might be having a risk factor.  But, the sweet truth is as follows. The investment capital is very small as compared to starting your own pharmaceutical companies and there is a very negligible chance that your investment will be having a longer payback period (The actual risk factor).
